THE “OH KNOW YOU DIDN’T” Bonus track 11: SHE’LL ART THE SHIT OUT OF YOU by the FIGHT CLUB ALL STARS.
Every rad album has a gnarley secret track and so does this series. A bunch of my friends have been posting the shit out of this song but i just couldn’t resist. It’s one of the most unexpected things to emerge from my musical adventures.
This came about prior to Heather’s birthday, around about the time i realised i couldn’t afford to buy her an actual present. I hit up chris cause i knew he had the equipment and the skills to fill in my blanks. Also, props to jimmy to kinda mastering it.
So I wrote a bass line, programmed some beats and then filled it out with some samples & loops and i had a sweet backing track. All i needed then were some lyrics and a means to record them. I went around to Chris’ a couple of days before heather’s b’day expecting to sit down and write some words, but alas chris had already written some sweet rhymes. He pitched the delivery to me and i pretty much went along with it, cause i had nothing better to suggest. We split the vocal parts right down the middle, and upon listening back, i don’t think either of us knew how to feel about what we had just created.
Anyway, it went down a treat and i still get a kick out of listening to this. A parody maybe, but we still raise our eyebrows at the potential of a hip-hop side project…
